Here's a couple more that go with the recent yellow theme. I shot these the other morning coming home from work in a roadside ditch. I would appreciate the ID on the flower, and I would love an ID on the flowers visitor's. I think they might be very young grasshoppers, but I'm not sure. They were about the size of a pencil eraser.

I don't now about being young grasshoppers. Looks to me like they are "hooked up". Younguns don't normally do that. Very interesting pictures... a different kind of flower for sure. Thanks for sharing././Jimbo

nice Tom!...what I think you have there is a "grey headed cone flower (yellow coneflower)...grows in southern minnesota..smells strongly of spice when crushed.......hmmmm..lol! ....not sure what the bugs are... jonny

Those are ambush bugs (family reduviidae). Nice pics!

Wow, you could blow those bugs up in 3D and have the next Godzilla opponent...ie, Mothra.

That's what I noticed too. The head on the darker one looks just like the head of the Godzilla they used in the last Godzilla movie. The one that had Matthew Broderick in it.
