Looking for family seasonal campground

My wife & I have 2 kids, 6.5 & 21 months. We have been looking for a family based campground on a good lake. We are on Mille Lacs now but it is hard to go & enjoy the beaches with the way that the wind seems to blow every weekend. Great for fishing but hard on the family life. We would like to stay within 2 hours of the Rogers area. Thanks for you replies.

We've been looking at purchasing a spot at places like Breezy Point or Sylvan Shores (SW of Motley). At Sylvan, the fees are pretty moderate.

i don't know if this is in your range, but there is a place in starbuck mn that is called hobo park. they have rv,and tent camping there right on the lake with a mariena to park the boats. DQ at entrance to park, walking distance to up town and city park.

Thanks for the info. We have been looking around the Brainerd area but find that all the campers are parked about a 1/4 mile from the lake. Last year we gave up a spot in Hackensack because it was to far to drive with the kids. We are finding alot of places in the Alex area that they are selling the lots but we can not afford to buy & do not want to move with the possiblity of having to move again in a year. If we do not find a spot we may have a camper for sale.

Sorry guys I have not been back to this for quite awhile. We looked at about 8-10 other resorts & decided it was not all that bad where we are. Things got beter as the summer whent on. We finally got to go out & find some beaches that the family could enjoy. It was a little trying when all the dead fiish wanted the same beaches that we did but we made the best of it. Also as we meet more people at the campground it made it better. Thanks for all you input!!!!
