Rapala

Anyone out there know where I can get my hands on a Rapala Skitter Pop in the Clown pattern? They have been discontinued and I am hoping to dig a few up somewhere. I have tried HSOList with not much success. Anybody have any ideas?? Thanks, 8-Ball.

I have the same problem looking for any chrome colored shad raps! Try looking in any bait shop or anyplace where they might not clear out last years items on the racks. I have found a few at boat landing places on Mille Lacs that still had last years colors for sale, bought all of them up! And you know what? I have had my best luck on those chrome colored raps versus the recent new colors! So check out any possible place where they might have last years models still on hand! Bait shops, gas stations, resorts, etc.!

I know it. My success w/ the clown pattern Skitter Pop vs. other topwater stuff is at least 5-1 ratio... Thats why I am searching high and low for them. Wonder why they discontinued them? I suppose they did not sell as well as they would have liked? I even contacted Rapala Corp. and the basically said "good luck".. Oh well, I am not giving up the search just yet! 8-Ball.

Are you looking for the (HCL) Hot Clown the red an yellow Skitter POP?

I found them on several sites online. Just do a google search for Skitter Pop clown.

just a thought, i looked on jr's tackle web site and noticed they paint there own shad raps and stick baits might be worth a call to see if they do skitter pops also, if they do they may not be able to paint them exact but, maybe be able to get close?

That is also my favorite color for one of the lakes I fish I was Pi$$ed when I went to the store and also checked there HSOforum to buy a few backups and they had been discountinued. They have done that a few times to me.

Yep, I feel your pain. A lot of my buds used this lure over most any other topwater and it outperformed for them as well. A real bummer nonetheless...
