fishin5
I have a question that has been buggin me for a while. Whenever I am slip bobbering in deep water, using light line, I can never get my bobber stops to stay put. I will always go for periods with out bites only to discover my stop had moved. As soon as I get back to the correct depth....WHAMMO! Multiply this X3 when the kids are with and it gets to be a real hassel. I have tried super glue, but that almost always guarantees a snot rocket breaking you off and having to retie ( which I don't do well in the first place.)Is there a way to get em tight, or can you mark the line? Thanks for your help.Mark Weber
TurnUpTheFishing
How light of line? Ive had this problem a bit in winter but not in summer. Just pull those little strings as tight as you can and dont trim them down so you can retighten them as needed.

DTro
Have you tried the rubber stoppers?
fiskyknut
Yep cinch 'em down good is about all you can do eh. I take and put 2 on about a 3/4 of an inch apart, this way if they're bumped up together or have moved further apart from one another you'll know the knot has slipped.fiskyknut
Trumar
I have come to realize Bobber Knots are made from 2 different sizes of thread(a thin and thick thread) and I have learn when using them to use the smaller thread ones on small diamater line (up to 8lb) and larger thread ones on 10 lb line and above.Since learning this I have no problem in them moving or coming lose...BUT, If you do cast hard they do get caught on the rod eye when going through to the end of the rod. One should never cast that hard any waysHope this helps..
Hoffer
I was just night fishing over the 4th up by Fergus Falls. 2 nights of unreal fishing - we hit it just right! One thing I always do that seems to work pretty well is once I pull the 2 strings together to tighten the knot - I then take the 2 ends of the string and tie a few "granny Knots" that always seemd to tigthten things down pretty good. The downside is that it is a little difficult to then adjust them if you need to and sometimes I have had to pull pretty hard and at times the line actually breaks. I lways try to set the stop at very close to the depth I will be fishing - so that once I make the final couple of granny knots - I dont have to move the bobber stop too much - maybe a foot or 2 up or down....hope that helps!
