Stop in and meet our own Hemlock. He owns a Husky gas station up there just as you are coming into Kenora from the south. It will be one of the first places on the left when you get into town.

They have a great store that has excellent variety of things you find in most of your stores here in the states and then some. Let me add that their chicken from the deli is great as well.

Thank you Hemlock for the use of the tools and taking care of my truck when we stopped. I will have to share my experience regarding Canadian Tire with you when we get together.

It was good to see you again and see you up on the river in about 6 weeks!!

Thanks for the kind words, Jeff. I am curious as to what happened to you at Canadian Tire....save it for a beer and some fishballs, eh?

If any of you are travelling this way and are FMer's, ask for Duncan...I'm pretty sure my staff won't know me as "Hemlock".

I'd be happy to fill up your rig and meet you! Sure do get a lot of MN, ND, IA, WI, and NB rigs through our station.

Border crossings have been a breeze from everyone I've asked, and the fish are biting!

Swamp, I'm right next door to Sunset Baits! Try and find me, I'll either be somewhere around the station or in my office...won't be fishing. Let me know if you need maps, ice, whatever!

I will stop by with my fishing partner on Friday. Flying out Saturday to Chase from the airbase down the street. I could use a few tips on a couple of good places to eat and run around. This year we have a whole day before we fly out so I can bum around town.

Geez, I was just up there but didnt catch this post til I was back... I woulda stopped in to gas up and shoot the bull..

Beautiful country you live in there. The wife and I fished Dogtooth for a couple days, then it was into town for a couple days of business... The views from the best Western are spectacular, and the golfing up at beuty bay was awesome. Can't wait to get back up there... Working on an excuse as we speak laugh.gif Maybe Blueberries towards the end of July would be a good excuse laugh.gif

Hemlock is there any shopping to be had in Kenora (for the ladies)? We will be on Crow for a week and probably looking to get up there to kill an afternoon with the youngsters and wives.

Jerkin'm, there's tons of shops in this town. It's totally set up for parking the car and walking around seeing gift shops, boutiques, art gallery, ice cream, delicious food...that sort of thing.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
