lawdog
Big upgrade for Mears, I can't see what Vickers was thinking...
jbell1981
With Busch's temper tantrum against Mears a few weeks ago, is this going to cause a little turmoil in the Hendrick stable?
eyepatrol
With the offseason over the winter, I'd have to think it would be water under the table by then. I'd have to assume Rick would make that clear to them also.
VMS
Not sure if this is a good move for Mears either.... That 25 car has not ever been very consistent over the past 10 years or so. Will a change to a team that maybe struggles with team dynamics or other issues be any better than being at Genassi? My wife and I were chatting about the woes of this particular team and started to contemplate if Hendrick uses this team as a "research" team rather than make it highly competetive like the other 3 teams... This is all tongue-and-cheek, so to speak, but I just don't see where this could be a good move for mears. Maybe it will, but after watching this team struggle to be consistent with anything, I just don't see this doing anything more than what Mears had at Genassi.I do think for Vickers, a change might be good. He was expected to be a solid competitor when he came to cup, but that has not shown through (again , I think this could be the team dynamic with the 25). So...for him to move to something else (ANYTHING else) is not such a bad thing maybe for him... It might get him on a team that has more POTENTIAL to win than the 25.Just don't see much in these moves, but time will tell...Steve
OUTDOORNUT
I think Vickers has had cars that Mears would have won in. It seemed the pressure was sure mounting on Brian, whenever he had a winning car he'd overdrive it, or make a stupid mistake. I remember him being a factor in more than a handful of races. Patience......I'm betting Vickers is going Red Bull Racing!
harvey lee
Seems to be a great move for Mears if that team gets the needed help to be competitive. For Vickers this is probably a good change as it seems he was going no where with Hendrick.Maybe the team chemistry just wasnt there.
