My lawn mower cut its last blade today.. the tranny in the push mower has had enough! Rats.. looks like I get to buy a new mower, that will eat into the bait fund!!!

Wait Dietz,I have the answer to your bait problem.Buy 2-3 sheep and you will get your lawn cut and free fertilizer,and you can go fishing instead of mowing.Looks like a ok deal to me.

Or you could turn your whole lawn into a perennial garden, which is what Mrs. Catfish and I are doing. Then you'd only have to weed, water and fertilize — but not mow. Less mowing, more fishing.

actually- and this is not easy to admit... I cant remember the last time I mowed the lawn.. she likes to do it.. I live close enough to South Center boat access that I can hear her mowing the lawn as I launch the boat...

The problem I have is my wife use to mow and I got upset with her because she mowed one line not straight and the wrong way.Needless to say she does not mow anymore no matter how much I beg.Big mistake.

I have all of the outside duties and a fair share of the indoor duties, but the wierd thing is that all of that sweaty outdoor labor I do on the lawn and garden doesn't count towards my quotta if you will as I am told "I enjoy doing that stuff, so it's not work". Sorry to hi jack the original Lawn mower post, I just thought I would add what came to my mind.

First time out last spring after new blade and oil change, I clipped the edge of a two-inch pipe that is the base of a wood rack. Bent shaft, ruined blade, trip to Sears for replacement. It was a model with the large back wheels. The future GLer was delighted he had something to use to build a go cart.

Deitz....How about this...We own and operate a lawn service and my wife thinks I don't know how to cut the grass! She does it every time...I've probably cut our lawn 2 time in the last 3 years!

She does all the gardening and if I knew how to post pictures, I would post some pics of her excellent gardens!

I do the big stuff, plant trees, cut down trees, retaining walls, pavers, fertilizing, construction, demolishion, cement work, sodding, machine maintenance, things like that, but mow the lawn? Nope!

She doesn't mind if I whip once in awhile....and she let's me go fishing whenever I want!
