i also have a scout and havent yet had it out, a buddy of mine had a different aquaview that we used once but it is kinda a pain, if you are able to anchor in a spot then you should be ok but if your movin then you have to move the camera up and down all the time, it can be use full but i dont think youll get much fishin in when usin it i am going to give it a try one of these days

I use my scout all the time in the summer. It works the same as in the winter. Put the weights on the camera, and drift along. It is helping me learn to interpet what my locator is reading. I say go for it.

I use my Aqua-Vu more in the summer than I do in the witnet.. I get it out just about every trip. I just got a hand held DVR to go with it so I can record... I wish I knew how to make the file a little smaller, I got some awesome footage of a TON of big gills on my last outing.

Do you guys that use it in the Summer have any trouble with glare on the screen and not being able to see the picture very well? When I use mine, I'm constantly trying to block out the glare from the sun or the color of the sky. Do you position the monitor any particular way?

Thanks

I have both an Aquavu MC2X and a Scout.. the scout is much easier to see in open water. And yes you do have some glare problems, just something you have to deal with. I have not soved that problem yet.. They come with a sunscreen. However, that said, the positives of having one and using one far outweigh having to deal with a little glare.

I haven't used my AV yet this year. Don't know why, because I'd like to, but just haven't. Fishing in a smaller boat with others might be the reason (lack of room). One of these days I'll have it out though. Glare is a problem for me too. I've got the sunscreen on, but usually I have to get my face right up there to block out the rest of the light to see the screen.

I've used mine a few times this year. Just angle the screen away from the sun and you are golden. I have only used mine after 4 pm, so maybe the sun at high noon would be a little tougher to angle it away from.

i looked like they were on beds. anyway, i like using my camera a lot for finding rocks off of the weedlines. it takes some time and manuvering by yourself, but it is well worth the time. a sonar does not do justice.
