Cleaning the screen of a Lowrance

EBass

Question

I have some hard water spots that won't come off with Windex on the screen. Does anyone have any info on another product to clean off the screen but won't damage it? CLR?

Try a mixture of 1/2 rubbing alcohol and 1/2 water. That's what I was told to use to clean laptop LCD screens and it works great!... I imagine that would work well... but use a very soft cloth!

You are correct, but the season opened with a whimper, not a bang. Went to Harriet and on about the 5th cast had a nice thick 48 follow to the boat and actually show interest on the figure 8. Pulled it back up on the very next cast but it was less interested the second time around and flipped me the proverbial fin. Saw 12 fish in total and had one small one nip at a bucktail but nothing in the boat. I heard the same story from the other boats I talked to. Maybe next time……..

For the screen cleaner, I went as far as buying one of those small travel size bottles of hair spray (the little pump bottle) and emptied it out. I then filled it with the Windex/white vinegar concoction to keep in the boat. It’s nice not to have to keep a huge bottle of Windex in the boat. As far as mix ratio goes I would say I was closer to 10 to 1 Windex to Vinegar. It does not seem to take much vinegar to get the screen clean.
