canada question

We are heading up to Canada next week for a fishing trip. Just wondering if anyone has ever stayed at Winoga Resort in Sioux Lookout. I believe it is on Abrham Lake.

I have not been to the place you are staying but have fished the chain Abram is on a few times. Are you looking for info on the lodge, lakes or both?

Yes it is run by a family from the metro area!!! When I was younger we went there 3-4 times......It has been awhile but the fishing was always decent as I recall.....You will have a good time.....I remember catching nice smallmouths and walleyes...The cabins are on a island and they are pretty modern....Have a good time!!!

I guess i was just looking for info on the lodge (activities, accomodations, etc.) or what type of fishing to expect, i.e. the normal cananda walleye lake with a jig and minnow?

I've been going up there pretty consistantly for the last 10 years or so. The cabins on the island are nice, but the one on the mainland is my favorite by far. The owners are very nice. I built a couple of rods for Janine last year to give to her husband Dick and her son Troy. You'll meet all of them. Mention the rods and I'm sure you'll bring a smile to her face. I hope I get this right...she like ranch salad dressing, so an extra bottle for her would go a long ways too

As for the fishing, we've always been able to catch plenty of walleye and a few northern. Never tried the lakers or whitefish on Minnitaki. I know of a few spots (one real close to the resort) I can share with you if you'd like. Have an awesome time.
