Opener? I been catchin bass the last two weekends, whattcha mean opener? I been fishin NW WI for about 10 years now and I think the bass fishing is, overall, as good or better than MN.

MN bass opener is a non-event because of the restrictive regs on opening. Non-res license for WI was $40 this year but 3 weeks of fishing, instead of waiting for MN Bass fishing to open, is well worth it!

Beeflove-I hear you, I have a cabin in Grantsburg WI.. and love the fishing around there. But with gas prices as they are, I would rather fish a little closer to home. I am really excited about bass opener in MN.

ISn't the non-res Wi licence $50 this year?

You are correct MR Deitz, the non-res WI license was $50 this year. I think this must have bumped up $10 or so this last year.

deitz, what lake you on in grantsburg. my grandparents used to have a lakehouse in grantsburg. i'm pretty sure it was on little wood lake but i could be wrong. they moved when i was about 6 but lots of sunfish off the dock.

actually I'm not on a lake.. I'm back in the woods... Our cabin is not far from Fox Landing on the St.Croix River. However, I do like to go and fish Little Wood, and Wood Lake. They are not far drives at all from the cabin.
