Bobby Bass
I am going to predict that this board is going to be very quiet for the next few days and there are going to be a lot of skunked fishermen. But they will be happy fishermen.
Cliff Wagenbach
Hey now Bobby! Don't even think nasty thoughts like that "S" word!! I hope everyone slams them this weekend! Especially me!! Hope you have a good opener! Cliff
Captain B.R.K
I will also predict that there will be a lot of drenched, soggy & windblown fisherman too! Good Luck to all that get out this weekend!
cylinder
If it's quiet, we hope that it's because we're all out there fishing instead of playing with the computer. I don't plan to be checking back for a few days.
deadminnowcatcher
I am back to shore already with my limit of eyes
Slyster
Deadminnow.. You fished less than ONE hour and got your limit? Yikes! You posted at 1:00am so you must have been out only 30 minutes or so? That in itself is pretty amazing.. but what really suprises me is that if you had such great fishing you came back to shore already. Why didn't you stay out and catch and release some more fish? I wish I was out tonight. I couldn't be out this opener since I am in charge of the kiddies this weekend and they can't be out in this cold weather or this late (3 and 6 y/o). Really wish I could be out there! Cylinder.. I think Bobby knew that.. and that's WHY he said it would be quiet the next couple days! Good luck everyone. deadminnowcatcher
Because when i have my limit i quit fishing. I got my limit in 40 minutes. Not trying to brag but you sounded like you were doubting me Besides i froze my butt off and figured it was time to leave.
Slyster
I don't doubt you at all!... it is just an odd thing for me to read is all... since I fish to catch fish is all... I would have stayed out all night if they were biting like that. (I rarely, if ever, keep fish.. maybe 2 or 3 Northerns per year.. so I guess that 'limit' thing doesn't apply to me! ) And... look at my avatar.. I am a bass man.. and so I am STUCK waiting another few weeks for 'my' season.. and since I don't know how to catch walleye really.. as they seem tougher to catch.. you did good. Although I DO know how to catch pike and I can't wait to get some in the next few days.. since they are a no-brainer.. and I do eat a few of those per year.. now that I know how to filet them boneless... they taste as good as walleye actually... (in my opinon)
2thepointsetters
Fishing was great on Vermilion---- A little rain and wind never kept the fish from biting... There should be a slot for under 11 or 12 inches on the walleyes tho. I saw boats with four and five guys in them all taking every 7 or 8 inch walleye they caught. It looked pretty sad. On the other hand...We did get two fish over 23 inches which was nice to see and very fun to release. I would have let them go with or with out the slot. I feels great to watch the big ones swim away.
