Hey everyone,

Just posting here in desperate need of some advice. I went out crappie fishing the other day to shake down my boat for the big Minnesota walleye opener, and had an issue with my boat trailer. At highway speed, my trailer bearings spontaneously came apart, destroying my trailer axle when the hub dropped onto the axle at 65mph. I have an EZ Loader trailer, and a 17 foot Lund Pro-V. It is a 2" square axle on leaf springs with a 84.5" center-to-center distace for the tires (85" between hub mounting surfaces) I need to find a new axle by the weekend in order to be ready for opener. I have done some running around Duluth and have yet to be successful. I am willing to travel essentially anywhere in Minnesota to get an axle, I just need to find a place that has one. Please respond if you have a lead on an axle or any ideas where I can get one...thanks!!!

When I was working iron I used to by axles for small trailers from a company called American Trailer in Duluth. Also check with CATCO they may have one wharehoused and can ship it to Duluth overnight. Napa also can get axles overnight if you lean on them a little. If worse comes to worse find a good welding shop to weld on a new axle end.Northern tool has those stacked up by the dozens.

I just had mine replaced but it was a Yacht club. I looked all over (including most places mentioned above) and unfortunately I had to go back to the dealer. I have the "V" shaped axel, not a straight one...sorry, I don't know the correct termanology. The straight ones you can find anywhere.

I just hope you have better luck than I did. Mine took over 3 weeks from the time it was ordered. mad.gif

If when you call the places above they do not have the part ask them who they would recommend. A place that repairs trailers can also cut the spindle off and weld on a new one. My Dad was forced to go that route once.

Try Pioneer Rim and Wheel in Minneapolis.

I used to buy parts from those guys years ago and they always had the odd stuff and the customer service was top notch, I forgot all about them.
