Marcum LX 3 Summer Storage

Not sure if this is the correct forum but... How do you store , for example, an LX3 during the summer? Does the battery remain plugged into the charger all summer or unplugged or ...? Are there any other guidelines? Thank you for your help!

I make sure my battery is fully charged, remove the power wires and put it in a warm, dry place... so, basically anywhere other than on the garage floor.

In the fall or early winter (or whenever there's a chance for ice) I pull it out and let the charger run.. but it usually doesn't take too long to top it off.

I have the perfect summer storage set-up for my winter graph. I take the graph off it's box, store the box w/ cables and battery in the closet and put the graph in the boat at the bow! I love to utilize the almighty $$$ grin.gif

How do you guys mount it to youf boat? The transducer that is. I am looking for a way to mount the ducer to something that I can throw over the side in front. My graph already has the back and my trolling motor is in back as well. I only have a 14 foot boat so I would think a graph in the back and the LX3 in front should be enough seperation.

my LX-3 gets used year round.

I put it on the bow of my boat during soft water.

I will charge my battery on the ice pack every now and then to keep the battery in shape.

indyefi500,

marcum makes transducers for either the trolling motor or transom, they are not cheap thou. get the trolling motor ducer and zip tie it to the bow mount. I have been using this system for years, with my marcum and my vex.

Knoppers:

That is what I was thinking of doing but my trolling motor is mounted at the back of my boat. I need something that will mount on the bow and then be able to drop into the water. I see Bottom line makes a graph that does this but I already have the LX3. I just need to get a transducer in the water.
