0 HaywardBound
What type of boat is it? If its a console look under the dash for a fuse block. You may have some terminals you could use. I would want it wired so it is hot all the time.
0 fishin789
If you don't have a fuse block just run two wires back to the battery. They are pretty easy to add to your boat.

0 marine_man
Depending on the model, and type of fuse panel you should have a couple of options... if you have a dedicated fuse panel (automotive style) there should be two Accessory spots labeled on the cover as ACC... if you've got two locators installed on your console there's a good chance they're both already taken, but if not look under the console for two orange wires that are zip tied together... connect into one of them and put a fuse in the fuse block and you're ready to go.If you have the glass style fuse panel, where each individual item has it's own fuse and holder tie into one of the empty ones, or piggyback off one of fuse holders constant power and put your own in line fuse in...marine_man
0 Little Joe
Another option would be to buy one of those battery/power packs. I have one that will accept the male cig adapter. I always have it in the boat in case I need to jump a dead battery and now use it for power to my H2OC. My power pack is rechargable which is also a big plus! 0 gman2002
ok i'm ready to try this. would it be ok to run the wires to one of my trolling motor batteries up front with an in line fuse ? i mean it wont drain anything while being stored would it ? 0 Jeremy airjer W
That shouldn't be a problem. An accessorie plug (Cig Lighter) is an open circuit until you plug something into it (cell phone, DVD, GPS, Etc.). I would go with one of those weather resistant ones if you haven't already done so. Its nice to have the lid and seal to keep out water and dirt.
