Boat Batteries!

Kandodad

Question

Good Morning...

I need to buy a couple of new Batteries for my Boat (Lund Tyee) and I was wondering what type was the "Best" and where I might find the best prices.

Any help would be appreciated.

I use Dura-brand from L&M they are on sale for $46 right now and with an on-board charger I get four years out of them.

You can spend a lot more on batteries, but I doubt you'll get that much more for your buck.

Hey Chris...

Thanks for the input on the batteries... where is L&M located? It sounds like a good price but unfortunately I'm not familar with this group.

Thanks again for your help!

I don't know if they handle deep cycle batteries, but I have had the best luck with CAT batteries. They are competitively priced, and good quality batteries. Their biggest selling point is that they have full warranty on their batteries instead of being prorated. If they say the battery has a 4 year warranty and it craps out after 3.5 years, just take it in and they will give you a brand new one. Plus they engrave the date you bought the battery right into the top of it to avoid dissagreements. They can be purchased at any CATAPILAR dealership. Again, I don't know if they carry deep cycle batteries or not though. For what it's worth you might want to check into it.

I think walmart carries them also. They are a popular brand. Do the math for a comparison to other batteries. I got four years out of my last set. 2 batteries= $96.00 Now you will pay more than that for just one of these other brands mentioned. The other brands won't last you eight years either. So is it really worth it to pay twice as much for a name.

Also, I fish tournaments so I need batteries that last. Haven't had a problem with these yet.
