Boat Wax/Polish?

I use Meguiars (sp?) (on an aluminum boat) because you dont have to wait to take it off after you put it on. I also wash my boat at least one time per week and wax it at least once every two weeks. That may be the downfall to Meguiars because it doesnt stay on long, or at least to my specs. Good post, I was wanting to know the same thing.

I use a 3M product called Perfect-It III. Its high test stuff the body shops use for gel coats and you have to use a electric buffer to apply and strip it. It has kept my twelve I mean thirteen(we both got older again)year old black Stratos shiny to the point it I can still see myself in the gel coat.

Another product I have had good luck with is also a 3M product simply called boat cleaner/polish wax. Hand application cleaner wax that takes ALOT of elbow work but comes out nice.

for older glass boats; i was told by a boat manufacturer, to use a wax that has carnuba in it. i have been using kit paste wax with carnuba for years on my rangers , and am very happy with the results.

Would all of you guy's like a nice, easy way to clean/wax your boat with very little effort on your part? Just take your 1/4 sheet palm sander and install a piece of old terry cloth towel instead of sandpaper and HAVE AT ER! If you aren't loafing, you should be able to completely wax or clean your boat in about a half hour! Works great on your car too! 1DIRTBALL wink.gif

Jon, I just thought it would be more fun if I waited until after you bought it.LOL! grin.gifwink.gif One other thing about using the palm sander! Dampen the terry cloth slightly with water, using a spray bottle. Do that before you apply the wax! 1DIRTBALL wink.gif
