Wanted: Crestliner Fishhawk passenger side console unit

nthomps66

Question

I have a 2004 Crestliner Fishhawk with the single driver's side console/windshield. Anyone know where I could get the passenger side console/windshield and how much it might cost?

I want to look into making it removeable. I would put it in when fishing bigger water or on cold/windy days for my wife and kids to hide behind.

Has anyone done this?

Any Crestliner dealer can order this for you. When I got mine it was around $450. I looked at doing a removable install but did not come up with anything I liked. One thing I did do when I installed was to move the console away from side of the boat. I isntalled so that compartment door between the consoles was centered. This gave me a 4" gap between the console and the side of the boat. Really nice for having room to lay longer rods down. Also gives passanger better protection.

Now that you've put it in do you wish you could remove it sometimes? I bought the boat because I liked it wide open like it is for bass fishing. Generally I fish metro lakes on nice days and wouldn't need the passenger console. However, last fall I went to Mille Lacs and ran around looking for walleyes with a buddy and almost froze him to death. It would be nice to have for those occasions.

I guess if I can't make it removeable I'm not sure I'd want it. Your thoughts???

I almost bought the same model boat last year, I think you've got a great rig. Since I do most of my boating on the St. Louis River and am subject to off Lake Superior cold winds, the dual console and walk thru windshield is a must have, just makes for a warmer drier boat. It's hard enough to keep the wife warm as it is! There is good reason to think about a single console if you are always on inland waters and small lakes and rivers. But Mille Lacs can separate the men from the boys. The alternative: keep a spare set of frog togs on board so your frozen passenger can get some relief. Good luck with your decision.

I have an 1850 Fishhawk with the dual consoles on it and love it. I had it added because of the factors you listed above. I know my passengers have liked it also especially on those cold October and November trips. That was a great tip on the placement of the console as it would get in the way if it were too close to the side of the boat. I think I like mine the most because it gives the boat a little separation from front to back. The walkway between the two gives you easy access to all areas of the boat but is not in the way as much as the full console. Also for me the area of the second console would have been a "dead" spot in my boat had it not been there anyway. Now I have some storage area, cupholder, and a little extra safety--not to mention added protection. The decks on the Crestliners are big enough that it won't get in your way so I would bet that once you decide to put one in you would more than likely keep it in. Good luck.

The boss man just did this to his boat. He said $500 installed. Don't know the actual cost, that is just what he told me. I mentioned that he was going to have to get new covers for his boat now and his eyes got real big when he realized he would have to add that to the total cost of the project.

I have not regreted putting my port console in. As far as getting a new cover: 1-put windshield on with detachable hardware(your 04 should have that on other console also) 2- anyplace that makes cover can modify cover to fit.
