Aw Tim give Tuzz some slack . . .ok, that's enough! Had to be satisfied with watching people fish instead of on the water, while here in Ohio. I am improving my golf game though. As for fishing . . .so far one trip to Bass Pro and I am down $50 . . .2 trips to Gander and down $150!! Tim I looked for the gold spoons but the lightest was 1/8th. . . 1/12 is nice. Jay, if you are still into making those round head orange jigs, try some with a football head as that shape seems to go through the rocks better. . . or so I hear. I have tried them bass fishing and have not lost one in the rocks yet.

Frankie - I have seen those football heads and never tried em. I'll try some as we feed alot of jigs to the rocks up in Canada.

Heres some I just tied up...

Timmy - Its old habit of mine but when ever I hook a fish that isnt small I flick the switch so I can backreel. 99% of the time the drag does all the work but sometimes a few backwards cranks can save a fish from being lost...

Jay now you tell me laugh.gif Nice jigs, pretty jigs there...

Franky I through some bait cast for a while on Saturday and after 30 min. or so only one zit bugger. I'm getting it! cool.gif

Tuzzy is out today and I'm golfing tomorrow in Schenectady and have to hustle back by 6:15 for a game in Floyd. Rosa has been bugging me about a pool for next year, I would actually like the inside of the house done over, getting rid of the plaster walls and upgrading the bedrooms.

If you got your golf game in today Frank you were lucky it rained on Tuzzy and I all morning accept maybe 20 min. or so. We caught two keepers 20" and a 16.5" a couple of smallies and Tuzzy caught a 4 pd. Sheephead. I did catch my one and only walleye on my new bait cast combo working a perch X-rap. Tuzzy caught his on a brown bucktail. We had some small perch pecks in the deep water but there wasn't much going on where we were at. The Toggs did there job today and kept us very dry. We pulled off at 12 noon.

Frank - It's amazing how that baby was running strong a couple a weeks back and something else has mucked up on it. Just got off the phone with Dark Cloud and they slammed em Saturday on the Delaware I think 59 eyes they caught, now that's smokin cool.gif

With the hot weather in . . .it may be time to take a road trip to some running water and see if some eyes cooperate with us poor lake fisherman. Boat problem was the ECU . . .not a good thing. However give credit to Mike the mechanic as he figured out a work round and the engine is running like a top. Saved me a $1600 dollar part bill, so far. I probably should run to the closest Skeeter dealer (in the Binghamton area) and trade up since I have a warranty on this engine at least for another year. Problem is I have not had a payment on it for over 6 years . . .one gets a little spoiled and tends to funnel that money into lures!!

That's a good mechanic... It's funny how money spent never seems to miss the jig boxes. Glad your back and running Frank.

Yesterday was not a good day had to lay man's best friend to rest after 11.5 years, Misty is chasing squirrels in doggy heaven.

The only fishing I'm thinking about today is fried fish in an air conditioned restaurant grin.gif Softball game at 6:15 in Floyd and the Girls have 7 - 8:30 p.m. doubleheader this sevening. Gonna be another long night. Stay cool fella's it's a scorcher today...

Softball was no picnic at 6:15 p.m. last night, we won 13-9 and Heathers fast pitch team split a double header losing the first game 1-0 and winning the second 4-1. In the Men's game at 6:15 this was the first time we never had beer there confused.gif because of the heat but we did knock a case of Dasani water down during play grin.gif

Tuzzy and I may hit Delta for a couple of quick hours Saturday morning just to do something out doors before the heat set's back in. My grass is about 8" high so I'll cut that tonight, crabgrass has invaded everything here it's bad.

who doggy . . . feels like Houston outside!! Dark Cloud maybe we should get together on the links and stay away from the water hazards as they always screw up my game as I wonder if anything is biting in there!!?? Tim I may try Delta this evening since I am out there for a party anyway . . . I'll give a report tomorrow. Sorry about the pup . . . its a hard one to take.

Franky - A golf outting with you, Timmy, and my dad and I would be a hoot.

We are playing tomorrow down in Scranton with my two young cousins. They are 18 and 20 but par or better golfers. They both got full rides to big colleges and the younger one will probably take a shot at the PGA. Dad played with them last year and learned a ton...

Golf shmolf at least the way I play... Went down to the freezer and noticed I brought up my second to last bag of walleye fillets frown.gif, which in my eyes is more critcial than this searing heat or my amazingly short back swing grin.giflaugh.gifgrin.gif Generally when I yell "Four" that means I'm playing my 4th shot off the same tee box. grin.gif

I left a message on the machine DC.

Tuzzy is stopping over the house tonight he's not happy with the rope and hole (multiple air hole set-up) on his trap pro to secure the main tent to the base. Want's to look at my weather stripping setupand 1/4" screw deal to see if he can find something close at the hardward store. Never to early to think about ice, especially in this heat, geez...

Thanks for condolences guys, small steps here...

We stoped at Taco Bell for din din last night and swung over to Walmart for groceries but naturally I headed over to the fishing department and was surprised to find a few Renegade blue/pearl minnow cranks in the bargain bin for $1.99 ea., also grabbed two blue/pearl Rapala size 10 X-raps and some heavier pliers for walleye dental work.

Hi Tim,

Sorry to hear about Misty---it must be tough losing a buddy after 10+ years. My condolences....

I haven’t been fishing at all the last 2-3 weeks. I have been working my butt off with 55+ hour weeks, and it looks like it will last up until Labor Day. I have a lake cabin up in Canada booked from Sept 16-23, so at least I have that to look forward to!!

Hey, I talked to my wife, and because we are booked in the cabin until we say no more, I told her that we should hold onto that week in Sept (because of popularity) and try to get another week during the summer. The kids will be going to school soon, and I don’t want to lose a prime fall fishing excursion. So, I might be going up there by myself in Sept next year, and there are two extra beds—hint hint..

Johhny - Where abouts up in Canada. We rent a cottage up there about a hundred miles north of Kingston on Crotch Lake. Been going there nearly 30 years as a family in aug. Dads been going sinch about he was 16. The guys also go again the last week of september, i'll get to go this year. There is just 7 small cotages nestled between two lakes - no electric, no running water, almost no people except the other cottages and it the same people each week each year...

We target mosty eyes and the fishing varies each year, lots of smallies around too...

Dark Cloud,

The cottage we stay at is also about an hour due north of Kingston. It is on Wolfe Lake near the town of Westport. It is more developed than your lake because most of it has cottages and houses all around it except for the northwest section. We target walleyes also, and the bass are there, too. This lake also has some of the biggest gills I have seen. Fun for the kids and easy pickings if you are in need of a fry for dinner if the eyes didn't cooperate. How far is this from your place?

Here is a link to where we are:

Thanks Johnny she's in a better place chasing squirrels and swimming her tail off.

Tuzzy and I had a pretty good day on Oneida as far as numbers 10 walleyes but here's the kicker only 3 keepers but we also through 12 nice perch in the livewell to go with the eyes, caught some smallies, white bass and a sheephead. Caught a couple eyes on the rattle trap but the 1/8 oz. brown bucktail sweetened with a tad of crawler was the ticket for us. Here's the pics...
