Boy it sure is cold up here after a week of 90 degree weather!! However, I'm glad to hear that Tim left a few waldos for me to catch. Less than 2 hours, plus another hour at the bar for a couple of cold ones . . . Don and I had our limit each. Tried a bass lure I won in a goody bag . . .silver black back Frenzy that suspends and 3 casts and 3 fish later headed home. Water is real high!! Must have come up 3+ feet since I left a week ago.

Dude I am running out of room in the freezer fast but thank God Franks back at work thinning the herd. grin.gif

Battery recharge last night and after staying up late to watch the game and only getting 4 hours a sleep becuase of the darn dog I was in work by 5:30 a.m., I'm whipped but not out. Call me, looks like 10-15 mph west winds and dreary rainsnow conditions over the next week or so but the water temps look to be dropping fast and were only in October, yeah grin.gif

DC - I'll have your challengers Thursday and I'll ship em down... Franky what color frenzy? Dark Clouds having a tough time finding size 9 shallow shad raps, I'll swing by Walmart and see what they have before I run to Gander.

Tim - Nice suit and what's that flasher underneath your elbow der grin.gif It's tough to hook up and sometimes I just go because I hear them calling me or like the other night when I let out the dog and the wind is perfect. It's only a 20 min. drive for me so that makes a big difference too. I figure from here on in it's a numbers game, water temp, bait and wind when it's all working you can throw anything and it will work, there everywhere right now, with this wind the break wall at sylvan beach will be so thick with eyes you could probably walk across em without getting your feet wet. The west winds have been blowing hard all day today! Yee haw!

Frenzy . . .black back, sliver sides, white belly and a red throat . . . sound familiar to the other successful bait?? And of course, they suspend . . .well at least this one does. Just to be safe, I was holding my rod at the 10 o'clock position. The really cool part . . .medium to fast retrieve!!! laugh.gif

Tim you need to go to the doc's and get checked out . . .the things that get you "elevated!" Anywho . . . last night was a waste of time with the water up 8-10 inches from the night before. Baitfish were even scarce. The entertainment was watching truck/carload after load come in and leave about 20 minutes later. The highlight of the night was 3 dozen wings and several beers. I suspect they are feeding whenever they want with this overcast sky. Between the 4 of us we got one walleye. I got a largemouth when I cast out about 5 feet to check the action of my lure and as I lifted the lure out of the water it hit.

Dark Cloud- Stopped by the post office before work and put a package of Challengers in the mail to ya. Things must be slow it said on the computer screen that they should arrive sometime tomorrow in Endicott, that's fast... Waiting for Frankies report grin.gif and it sounds like earlier in the evening is the trend from here on in...

got there early, before sundown . . second cast hit the rocks about 4 feet out and then tug, tug, tug . . . about 4 casts later, landed another and then this huge ZIT came spiraling off the reel . . .I could see fish swirling and there I was pulling line off the spool as it got darker and darker. Tough to see that 6 lb black Fireline in the dark and then cap it off with rain and a 15 mph wind!! By the time . . .about 15 minutes . . .I got everything cleared and reeling the line on the spool, I had a tangle in the rocks!!! Lost the Frenzy frown.gif Nothing hit after that. Last desperation as the wind started really howling and the rain went from a steady drizzle to a terrential downpour . . .threw a number 10 silver sided, black back husky jerk out about 30 feet and dragged it down and then brought it back slow and bang that was the third and motivation to head up to the bar for a beer.

Frankies reports have been slow, he picked up one fish the last two nights. And last night one of his friends caught two but other than that this high water is making it tough. Cards go for the clincher tonight and I bought some peers to celebrate if they can pull it off! Go Cards!!!

Tim is on the mark as far as the fish go. Perhaps they are coming in later or early in the morning . . .I hear raindrops outside right now . . .darn . . .not going to be good in the woods tomorrow, should have gone to the field edge late this afternoon. Sounds like the water levels will nto be dropping this weekend.

Just a little weather report from the east end of Oneida lake. Heavy winds has the water up over the side of the canal in some spots with lake shore rd from SB to North Bay under water. Many homes in the North Bay area along the lake are surrounded by water. Fish creek is as high as I have seen it in 10 yrs. I guess that this will change the walleye fishing for a few days.

Tim . . .have you come down off your high yet from the world series St Louis win??? I went by Sylvan Beach this morning after breakfast with the guys and most places are under water. Bar is unfishable as the docks have floated off their pilings and are in the bay. Water is coming over the elbow and the "rock" is under water and a third of the walk is under water. Water is murky. Sylvan Beach pier is as North Shore described . . . pretty poor conditions although Don and I talked to a guy in waders who had been fishing since daybreak with no fish but said one guy who was there did catch . . . one. Everything is murky . . .north shore was less so but still off colored and high. Suspect the futher west you go the fishing might be more amenable on the north side . . .but I think I'll just wait a couple of days . . . or if I can't control myself go in about 2 hours. grin.gif
