The Vikings traded Culpepper to the Dolphins for a second-round pick earlier Tuesday, pending Culpepper passing a physical. Culpepper's physical with the Dolphins satisfied Miami officials enough to finalize the trade. The Vikings will receive Miami's second-round pick in the 2006 draft
Bryce
He still needs to pass the physical. We know how proficient he's become at passing. And then he could still fumble the pen when signing the contract. We've almost cleared out all of Denny Greens poison from the system. Starting to see some rays of sunshine on the horizon. Saw interviews with Chris Carter on tv last night. Can't we ever get rid of that bum.
nofishfisherman
Calling Cris Carter a bum????Did you ever watch the guy play football? He was one of the best recievers in NFL history. If your comments are honetly how you feel then you have expectations that will never be filled. And yes Culpepper may fumble the pen but he might accidently throw 40 td's as well.
Bryce
Can't argue his stats. Where did he get us as a team? Was he an aggitator on the sidelines?
nofishfisherman
He was part of the best offense in NFL history, they scored more points then any other team in history. He did his part. Did you want him to go out and play linebacker or Strong Safety as well. The reason the teams didn't go any where was because we could score 40 points every game but our defense would give up 45 points every game. I would love to hear your explaination as to why Carter was the reason the defense was so incredibly lousy. How can a WR who has the 2nd best career numbers in history be responsible for a team having a bad defense? The stupidity of my own question baffles me, maybe he wasn't to blame. CodyDawg
nofish,The defense did not give up 45 pts per game. and how much did CPep contribute to that by his turnovers? Bottom line is very few QBs play with a dominant defense. If he was the stud you make him out to be, he would have overcame that. He was 38-42 as a starter and that wasnt all the defenses fault. And I think the Randall Cunningham-led Vikes set the all time points record in 1998, didnt he? nofishfisherman
Bryce, the stupidity comment was refering to the question I was asking. Probably worded it a little poorly.CodyDawg,It wasn't a question of quarterbacks that we are talking about. We were talking about Cris Carter so the QB question doesn't play into it at all. What alot of people don't seem to get is that football is a team game, I am sick of people crucifying one man for the failure of 50 some guys. The vikes have had lousy teams in the last several years, one man isn't to blame, Culpepper threw int's Cris Carter had an attitude for a year, the defense couldn't stop anyone for years. Lets call it what it was A BAD TEAM. I think the new coaches are doing what they need to do to revamp things but lets face it we were bad all over the field the last 4-5 years, one man was never to blame for the losing. It is never just one man on a roster of 52.

JohnMickish
He passed and has agreed to do his rehab in the Dolphins training facility. He wouldn't rehab here or even be on the sidelines during the games for us. Culpecker is a putz.
JohnMickish
Found this at CNNSI. Interesting stats. In 80 starts with the Vikings, Culpepper had a record of 38-42. Over the last three years, the Vikings were 17-20 with Culpepper as their starter and 9-2 when he was sidelined.
Archery 1
Hey Dudes, I think after last year the Vikings realized they didn'tneed Culpepper they went 7-2. I think Duante didn't wantto learn a knew offense. It would of tooken him 6 years tolearn it. At least we don't have to watch him fumble theball. He holds the record for most turnovers all time. nofishfisherman
I am pretty sure he is going to be using the vikings old play book down in Florida so I suspect he will be learning a new offense no matter what.Learning a new offense had nothing to do with it since no matter what happened he was going to learn something new either with the Vikes or with another team.
