Installing Lowrance graphs

Question

I have a question regarding installing a new lms-334c. I want to take the x-97 thats on the console now and move it to the bow, no big deal.. and I am going to mount that new 334 on the console.. When I mount the transducer for the new one, does it matter how close to install the new transducer to the existing one? Anything else I should know before I do this? thanks

That would be my question too.

Did you check if the existing transducer from X97 works on the 334 ?

Many of them are same if connector is same you might have a match, also power connector should be same, you just need to find a spot for GPS antenna.

I typically leave the width of the transducer in-between 2 transducers. If you've got a speed wheel, just put that between the 2 and you should be fine.

I contacted Lowrance regarding interchanging transducers involving a x135 and a lcx19c. They told me for sonar readings it will work fine, but where you run into problems is with temp. readings. You probably have blue/grey connectors on the 97 and all grey on the 334? They will connect in either unit. I chose to go with the original transducer for each unit.

If you install both of the transducers to close to each other you will not be able to run both units at the same time. You will be getting two signals at a time to both units, which will really mess up what you are recieving!

You will need to install a transducer at each end of the boat to be able to run both units at the same time.

Some units can be run off of the same transducer at the same time by installing a special splitter.

Call Lowrance and they will be able to answer your questions for sure! smile.gif

Seekingwalleye, cabinboy is right. You must the use the blue/grey digital transducer that came with your 334 if you want to get temperature readings. The grey connector transducer from your 97 will hook up to the 334, as will the power cord, but you will not get any temperature readings. If you mount both ducers on the back of the boat, you won't be able to run both units without a lot of interferance' so I would suggest mounting the 97 'ducer to the bottom of the bow mount trolling motor. Just a few thoughts. Have a good season!

thanks for the help guys. I have a universal sonar on the bow mount that i was gonna hook the vexilar too on the bow. i wanted the vexilar and x97 on the bow.. so the vexilar is already using the bow mount. so.. maybe just mount the two transducers in the rear of the boat.. one on one side of the motor and one on the other? thanks again..
