Zipper Replacent

I have a clam voyegeur with a double zipper front door. ONe side has some bad teeth near the bottom and won't zip all the way down. I wrote to clam yesterday in Plymouth and asked them if I can bring it down and if they would replace one side of the zipper for me. Any other thoughts in the event they won't do it? Also I noticed on the sled that I have a hole in the bottom, must have snagged a sharp piece of ice or something anyone have any ideas on how to repair the plastic sled? Hole is probably the size of a silver dollar. thanks, Bill Turck St Cloud

To fix your sled (i am assuming it is a plastic sled)go to out and about in st cloud. they make a type of plastic stick you melt ovet the hole, it is used for skis.

I had Canvas Craft in Ramsey put a new zipper in my Otter Den. I can't even tell it was replaced and the zipper is very nice as well. I want to say it was $50-60. I'll be more careful with the exhaust on my auger next time.

Mikes shoe shop and canvas in Richmond put's new zippers on coats and fish houses he should be able to help you with your zipper problem.

Hanson or Icehawk did either of the places that you used require you to take the canvas totally off of the sled, or can I take the whole unit in as one piece rather than reconnecting everything again? Thanks, Bill

Bill-I took the canvas off of the pipes when I had patch work done. Mike would probably do it if you ask he's a top notch guy.

Bill- I took the canvas off mine as well. I'm guessing they'll need you to take it off.

Based on my expierence with Clam over the years I believe they would fix the Zipper much cheaper and probably for free. I would call them or just show up.

Thanks guys for all of the input. I wrote to clam last week to see what they would do, waiting for the answer. With the nicer weather I can get by the rest of the season and then get it done this summer. I do appreciate the help. Bill

I would e-mail clam if possible. I emailed them with a couple of questions earlier this year and had a response within 1-2 hours. Excellent customer service.

jiggin-matt: I tried emailing them directly from their web page link and it came back three times as undeliverable so I opted for the snail mail. I will try the email link again, maybe it was just a server problem when I tried. Bill
