I bought a Wildview 2.0 digital camera and the 12V battery. I was hoping to put it out this weekend. This year has been rather mild to normal winters. How do these camera's and the battery handle the cold weather? I am talking Baudette cold weather. Normal -20 or more in the winter. Little leary about sticking it out there. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

Check the instructions closely.

I would guess it might have something in there.

Leaf River Digitals say not to use colder than -10 or something like that.

I have left 35mm cameras out in the worst of conditions and never had an issue with those type.

The only thing the manual says is to make sure case is closed for best weather tight performance. Seems pretty vague to me??? The battery had no manuel just a sticker inside the cover of the plastic case how to charge.

I just bought one of those but, am returning it since you can't view images on a TV. I thought it said -14F in there somewhere.

Jason, I've used a digital for two years and in the Winter near Walker two days is the most you get (at the most)before you need to charge the battery. I still do it because it's a fun toy but don't expect much battery life, that's been my experience with my Moultries.

I think his post is more directed at the fact the camera might have limitations with how cold it can be before something might break.

Not so much battery life in the cold.

I concur, batteries go fast in the subzero temps though.

Your opinions needed. If using a 12v 7ah battery, like what's in our flashers, as an additional power source, would you make some type of insulated battery box or would the battery just freeze no matter how insulated and get ruined anyhow?
