Spinning or Casting

Depends on what lure I am fishing. If I am just fishing weightless pleastics I will go spinning. But if fishing a scum frog or Jig n pig I will go baitcaster.

On a side note, you can learn how to skip a baitcaster... Just isn't easy, and costs quite a bit(in line lost to backlashes). shocked.gifgrin.gif

Dietz's, how many times will we be having this conversation. We are professional field-staff. We DO NOT GET BACKLASHES!, some times we may and I stress may, have to contend with a professional over-run. grin.gif

I just about lost myself if a few of the backlashes I had.. pert near a straight jacket!!!! grin.gif

I use a 5'6" MH spinning rod for skipping plastics under docks and "toons". If you look at rod companys that build rods for float tuber's, you can find short spinning rods with ample backbone, combine that with a wide spool spinning reel and braid... makes a great dock combo. I bet one of the rod guys on this sight could build you a great dock rod for a good price. For flipping the dock or cranking each side I go with a pistol grip bait casting rod. If I have to skip with a baitcaster, then I short spool the reel, this cuts down on the professional over-runs. grin.gif
