Lanterns

Does anybody have any advice on a lantern for my portable fish house?? Coleman???? Brinkman??? Pros/cons to either or am I missing something else???

I've used the coleman model 2000 with the metal cage around the glass. It worked great.

I just bought a Brinkmann about two weeks ago. Haven't used it too much, but I like it so far. It has a metal cage around the globe, which is nice. I also like the reflector that allows you to control where the light goes.

Does the reflector allow you to direct the light downward?

No, it basically allows you to have 360 degree lighting or you can close down the back half and have all the light reflected forward.

search this site for fishbright lantern reflectors, they are great for getting the light down to the holes.

I use a standard coleman 2 mantle that mounts to a 1lb bottle and a fishbright on it. Most light goes down to the ice rather than spread out and in your eyes all the time. Its a great combo when Im using my lantern. They make modles for all lanterns. E-mail me if ya need more info about the fishbrights.
