I've gotten great info off this site for a couple years now, from the deal on my portable three years ago at Gander, to what flasher to buy. Recently I saw others having the same problems I'm having and the TC update intriqued me. Since the lakes are melting, and I'm working a long stretch I decided to send off the LX3 to Marcum. I mailed it USPS on Tuesday. On Thursday I walked into work and my box was sitting on my desk. My first thought was that I addressed it wrong and it got rejected. It had an UPS tag from Marcum, and sure enough in ONE DAY they replaced my transducer and did the upgrade!

Hats off to the folks at Marcum for the amazing turn around, and thanks to all the posters out here for the great advice. laugh.gif

Ok guys I need your opinion on this.... I bought an LX1 at the start of the season last year, and I love it, but lately it has been hurting... I have been keeping the battery up and always handle the thing with great care, but it seems every time I go out I have to have the gain up higher and higher to pick up my jig. I was fishing 22 feet of water yesterday, in a lake around Faribault that was pretty clear, and I had to have the gain up at 5-6 to constantly pick up my jig! I used to be able to keep it down between 3-4, and at 4.5-5 it would flicker in and out where my jig was... then later in the night the transducer started clicking really loud... like i could hear it standing up above my hole while fishing, and there wasnt any ice on it... what do you think I should do? Would Marcum help me out here? I don't want to shaft anyone... let me know what you guys think

brian give marcum a call they WILL take care of you. What you are discribing seems like a transducer issue which Marcum did have some problems with last year. They have been really good about replacing them.
