vexilar vs lowerence

witch one should iget if i got the lowerence unit i would get the flasher without the gps and if i got vexilar id get the fl8 wich is better

Vexilar all the way. The Lowrance x67c doesnt have IR (Interference Rejection). If you get the Lowrance good luck around the other units near you. The Vexilar will give you awesome results. Some will say check out the Marcum\'s also. I say get a Vexilar. I have had my FL-18 for a week and its like having your personal guide out there on the ice. Its awesome.

I've had the lowrance for 1.5 yrs and I like it so far. I've also used vex's and they are nice too. One nice thing about the low. is I use it as a portable finder in the open water as well. Ice fishing I use it in the sonar mode zoomed in the bottom 6-8' and crank up the chart and ping speed and you can have very quick readouts plus a history of what's going on. I do not use it in flasher mode. You will like either one. If you decide on the vex I would get the fl18 so you can zoom on the bottom.

I have had a lowrance for 2.5 years. Right know it doesn't work. Have had to send it in 4 times. this time it will cost me 100$ for a new replacement. I went out and bought a vex..just to expensive to keep the lowrance working. Lowrance is nice but not having IR SUCKS. In my opinion there isn't a question on which one you should get.

I have had my Vex FL18 for 3 years now and I really do enjoy it. Has a 1/2 in. defination and you don't need more than that. The zoom really lets you know what is going on and you have no problem seeing the flasher in the sunlight. It is a good choice.

I just started using my X102C Lowrance for ice fishing and I don't think I'll ever use a flasher again. A graph gives you more detailed information than a flasher and is much easier on the eyes.

I would go with a good flasher of whatever kind fits your budget and style of fishing. If your looking at a FL-8 take a look at the Lx-3 with true color. More bang for the buck.

I still use a Vex when fishing deeper than 160' for Lakers but use the Marcum in anything shallower. In my opinion its a better unit with more options than a Vex.

Whatever you do get what works for you and will make you happy. Both Vex and Marcum are good units.
