I have a Clam 5600 and I think it is a great portable if you are going to set up in a spot and stay put. It is very roomy for two people. Like kslipsinker said, when you bank it up it is solid. Stays put and stays very warm with the appropriate heater.

cpoganski, Had a 5600 (older model) sold it and bought a new one with the darkening canvas (sight fishing). Either one is easy to heat, again when well banked. But, as stated earlier, not idealy suited for portability. Once the weather gets COLD -15 or less, I use the 5600 exclusively. Until then I use the Yukon. If you're lookin' for a house to follow the fish, look into the Yukon. Flip it open, grab the heater, and your off to the next spot, 2 people with room to spare or 1 person with LOTS 'o room! The Yukon seats are very comfortable with good back support for those long days staring down. WELCOME to the site! There's a LOT of knowledge passed through these threads. Phred52

I got mine about 3 years ago at the end of the season for under $200 like someone else said. Also, I agree with everyone else. I love it when I'm either fishing alone or with one other person. It's easy to heat and it's a very sturdy house. Even when there's no snow, the ice shavings from the holes are enough to bank it and keep it in place. I can stand up in it without having to get out or flip it open. It isn't as portable as a sled-type, but it's not impossible to drag around either.

I have a question on the 5600? I need to replace the plastic on the end of one of the tubes. How do I do this? I need to know how to get the original out and the new piece in.
