New self jigging tip-up

You know the kind I mean, they are blue and run off D cell batteries. Who has one and how do you like them? Do they work or is it another item that a guy can live without? I need another tip up and am considering getting one of them if people like them

I just got one and tried it out the other day. Not really impressed. More cons than pros for me.

Pro's

-Pretty sturdy tipup

-Keeps that minnow moving

-New idea's and jigs can be implemented with this product

Cons

-Noisy

-Heavy and Cluncky

-When a stupid snowmobilier runs over it you may get a little more fired up than normal.

Something new and now you can have your tip up jig for you and then attach a pager so that you don't even need to watch it.

I was thinking I got one with a bad motor and was going to return it. The thing is VERY, VERY loud. I wish you could adjust how far and how fast it jigged. Did it catch you any more or less fish when you tried it out?

Wait until it gets a little colder and it freezes up on you.

Pier has it right.. probably made the comment due to mine.

They work great.. in the living room. If you try to use it below freezing(25 degrees?) it will freeze up in a hurry.. less than a minute on mine. I wasnt all that discouraged with the noise, I havent seen that many northerns that care about alittle noise, and walleyes are usually too deep for it to make a difference.

The fact is they freeze up quick.

Save your $20. They are useless.
