0 GregT
I've had the medium sized one for three years and am very happy with it. It is virtually the same as the Otter's except they use electrical conduit for the poles. I'm 6 ft tall and can easily stand in mine, so they are taller then the Otter as well. I do not think I'd be able to stand in the Otter Cabin.
0 Pikemaster101
Do you think that they are more derable?
0 GregT
The Original uses plain canvas 11oz I believe. Whereas Otter uses a semi coated heavier weight canvas. IMO Otter has a better canvas but, is it worth the $? Only you can decide. I bought the Original mainly because nobody had the Otter in stock at the time I was looking. 0 Shorelunch
Yes Mr. T, but have you had your Otterskin in the ice yet this year? We've gotta get the January Ice Extavaganza planned out. I'll shoot you an eMail. I've fished out of my new Otter Cabin quite a few times now and I'm very impressed with the quality of the canvas, sled and the poles - although you do pay more. I'm 5'10" and can stand up in the middle of the house with Sorrells on. Otterskins are nice houses, too.
0 GregT
Shorelunch - No need to remind me of my schedule . As you know travelling hockey is a never ending animal . The coach and I have a free pass for January 27-29, possibly the 30th as well. I will be in your FAVORITE place tomorrow night - Mariucci! Z skates between 2nd and 3rd periods again. 0 Shorelunch
Ahh . . . the fishies aren't biting anyways Wow, Z skating at the Marioucci again is cool - just so he isn't skating there in 14 years . . .
0 metrojoe
I'm not sure what the material is like now, but I've got an older one man Otterskin and it's a good heavy canvas. Very durable. I would think that weight would be a concern when you get to a 2 or 3 man version. But most likely wouldn't be an issue for guys with an atv or sled. Here is a pic. 0 castmaster
if your looking at new otterskin shack, the one upside to them is they offer a canvas which is black on the outside and white canvas on the inside. helps to brighten up the shack without as much light. i think they are also insulated.
