Today I was in 25' of water catching gills when a muskie appeared, it hung around for 1 1/2 hrs. at one point it was nose to nose to the camera. I could see its eye moving looking at the camera. It bumped the camera 2 times. I thought I was going to wet my pants. I'm going to get a camcorder to video tape it but I'll probility never see anything like that again.

MSchmillen,

Apparently everyone else has no issues with the night time performance of their cameras confused.gif Several buddies of mine can't see squat with their cameras at night either. Leads me to believe that feature is nothing more than a marketing scam shocked.gif

I have an aquaview dt with the sr led lighting and I am not thrilled about its abilities to see after dark.

It lights up the area fine but it is hard to see through the particle reflection

I have a an Auqa-Vu SV about 2 years old with the red/green LEDs. i have also found that if i switch on the LEDs i cut my viewing distance down to a foot or so. Same problem, too much floting matter in the water to refelct back and most of the time i fish gin clear lakes. My frineds have an older Aqua-Vu with the IR lights and that one is completly worthless once it gets dark uncer the ice. Nothing but snowstorm fuzz on the screen.

I have the same problem with my marcum. Tried something

interesting this weekend. my son has an aquaview an we put both camera down the same hole to see who had the better picture. About the same, but then I pulled my camera up

about a foot and turned on the lights, of course all I could see was particles glowing, but my sons camera could see much better. He has the cheap model with no moniter( it just plugs into the tv in the house

Trying the two cameras seems to follow the marcum sales pitch for the 560 that the light is above the lens and shows less particulate than when the light surrounds the camera. Can anyone with a 560 verify if it helps and if it is far enough above the camera to help or does it need to be farther away.
