0 Valv
Battery 1 positive to battery 2 negative, battery 1 negative to motor, battery 2 positive to motor.------------------Val Vignatiwww.kvesurplus.com[email protected]
0 waterwolff
for 12 volt's you would want your batteries in parallel so you would put positive of battery 1 to positive of battery 2 and negative of battery 1 to negative of battery
0 Mark Christianson
Whew!!!!I just hooked up mine in parrallel tonight for my 12v motor, and I read the 1st reply and almost fell out of my chair. To get 24v you go from the Positive on battery one to negative on battery two.Correct?

0 Valv
Wow, sorry guys, I should have read more carefully.Yes, my description is for 24volts.If you connect a 24 volts to 12, it just runs slow, but a 12volts to 24....I will owe a motor to somebody.------------------Val Vignatiwww.kvesurplus.com[email protected]
0 G_man
An electrician told me what I think is an easy way to remember the difference between series and parallel. Think of the batteries in a typical flashlight. The batteries are in series in a flashlight. Negative to positive.
0 soldoncass
Pos. to pos. and neg. to neg. = parallel or 12 volts. I just did that on mine for more elec. motor running time, but I didn't know what size wire I should use. The # 8 marine wire I saw at the store seems way too big. Anybody know what size we should use for that? Thanks
0 waterwolff
depending on the load you may even need #6 or #4 for the jumper wires
0 soldoncass
WOW, thats huge. I should look closer at the trolling motor wires, maybe. Thanks, What does everyone else use?
0 waterwolff
soldoncass I was referring to the jumper wires between the two batteries I believe most manufactures recommend an 8 gage wire to the trolling motor plug
