oops! Now I need to patch my Fish Trap Yukon

Well I did it! First trip out with a brand new shack. I burned a hole in my new Yukon with that (Contact US Regarding This Word) sunflower heater. It is in the door flap, but did not get the zipper. All I am going to say is that it involved a nice keeper walleye and I did manage to get him. Any ideas on Patches? Does Clam Patch them if I send it in? I just want something that will hold well and look good.

Get the material at most places that sell Otter house. I used the material and than bought some DAP Welwood contact cement with the material and do both sides of the tent works great and looks great also. Just remember to mark out the patch on your tent and keep the cement inside the lines you marked out and it will look great.

A couple of years ago I bought some glue/contact cement called “goop” at the local Fleet Farm. It’s used to fix holes in neoprene waders and similar material. I have found it also works well for fixing holes in my portable canvas-covered fish house. I just apply a small amount on both sides of the hole, and it acts like a patch...without adding any additional material. It drys clear..so it looks just fine. I have patched a few different spots on my portable over the past few years..and it seems to be holding up just fine.

I have used iron on denim patches on a couple of my Clam units to patch burn holes. I got rid of a unit a couple of weeks ago tht had the same patch on it for 15 years! The same type of patch my mother used to use on my jeans when I ripped the knees out of them as a kid.

I did the exact same thing. Burned a hole in my window flap covering of my Yukon with the sunflower. (I now have the big buddy to hopefully solve that now). Anyways, I went to a fabric store, got some denin patches, and used a hot glue gun to secure it to the Yukon. It looks great and it took like a champ. I know you can get the patches in 12" portions. Good luck...I know the denim patches with the hot glue gun worked great for me.
