bucketmouth64
Fellow members I need help with mp3 players. I am looking to buy 1 GB mp3 player for x-mas and would like some advice on which brands to consider. Don't know anyone that has one so I thought I would ask for help from any of you that might have one.
0 Ralph Wiggum
I was in the same boat. I read a lot of online reviews. Two of the highest rated are the Ipod Nano and the Cowan Iaudio U2. I went with the Cowan because it is a little cheaper and also has a radio tuner in it. Can't tell you how she likes it yet, but that is what I decided on. You can check out reviews at www.cnet.com
0 DEADhead
check out the iriver line of players. I have the 390T which is only 256mb, but they have some others that are really nice. The nice thing about them is that their firmware is updateable, so you're not stuck with some out of date player a year or two from now.
0 hoggs222
The Nano is not very durable. It scratches very easily & is too thin! It'll snap if you're not careful. I've got the 30gb ipod & have no problems.
0 Ralph Wiggum
Yeah, but a hard drive (ie 30 gig ipod) is not good for working out as it will jam up and skip.
0 hoggs222
I have to try this "working out" thing you speak of! I haven't tried that with the ipod yet. I basically bought mine for the car, cutting the grass, the boat & the Fish House!
0 BradB
I have a 40 gig iPod that I've been running with for over 2 years. I rarely have a problem with it skipping. I hold it in my hand and I run 20-25 miles a week outside, in the winter, or on a treadmill.
0 Ralph Wiggum
You're probably alright with it in your hand. That wouldn't jar it too much. I have friends who have had to reset theirs because they get jammed up from being jarred when running.
