SCHAAKATTACK
Looking for Restaurants to eat at after the Ice Show this weekend. I convinced my wife that if she tags along I would take her out for dinner. Someone mentioned Casetta's(sp?)anything else that you would recommend. I know Mancinni's is nearby. Looking for interesting ideas. TIA.
nofishfisherman
Lots of good places.Cossettas is good, it is ala carte (sp) Can be really loud in there though.Downtowner is good, everything is cooked over a woodfire. The liffey is good, its an irish pub that is really nice inside, not sure how loud it gets. All these places are on West 7th right by Excel. Just a little to the west.If you want you could head north to Grand Ave. Several more good spots. Tavern on Grand is a good place for walleye and beer and stuff of that nature. Barbary Fig is a small place that serves food from north africa and the mediteranian area. It is really well prepared food, 5 star quality food but in a small little place with good prices. But if you are stictly a meat and potato guy probably not the best choice. Also there is Axel's bonfire. Again woodfire cooking but on Friday and Saturday nights they have dueling pianos on stage, it is a really fun place to go and hangout and get a drink or two with dinner and listen to some fun music. Gets pretty lively and is fun.Cafe Latte is ala carte again but the have awesome cake so the perfect evening is go to axels for dinner and music and then go across the hall and get cake for dessert. If I come up with any more ideas I will post them, this is just a few of the places I have been. Let me know if you need directions.

MNmikew
I work right by RiverCenter. Kincaids is great but pricy, on 5th and st peter. If your into sushi, Sakura is on st peter and kellog and is best sushi in town, including mpls.Great Waters brew pub is good, also on St peter. There is a good thai resturant on 7th and st peter. Cossettas on 7th has fantastic italian, fills up fast. Hunan Garden is near 6th and wabasha, pretty good buffet. The st paul grill in the st paul hotel is really good but upscale and pricey. There's plenty more, but these are my favorite haunts.

hoggs222
What about Alary's? OK maybe not with the wife, but it's got some good frozen pizza & I have yet to see some better scenery anywhere else!
nitroant
I like Joseph's on Wabasha and Plato. So that is south of the X and to the east. Its not a super high end place, so the green backs can go to gear instead of the dinner bill. Plenty of seating too.
maj330
There are a couple of Thai places. The best one is called Ruam Mit Thai. Great food at a decent price but the ambiance in the restaurant is not so great. It's dark though so maybe you won't notice so much. Another place that is a bit classier is Sawatdee. More expensive but a much nicer restaurant and good food too.

JohnMickish
I suggest the Liffy, a little crowded inside but it makes a real nice place to take the wife, and the food is fantastic.
pout-pounder
If you're lookin for a good meal and a beer I couldn't recommend Patrick Mcgoverns any higher. Their turkey meal is about $10 and it's more than a guy should eat, but too good to let any go to waste I know I'm stopping for lunch before the show. norteastern
After living in the St. Paul area, my favorites are Mancini's and Patrick McGoverns. Mancini's has the great charbroiled steaks and McGoverns has the hot turkey sandwich thats very good. Both make your tummies feel good until the fresh fish is caught by yourself. SteveWilson
I like the Liffy for brunch. One of the few places that have bangers and blood pudding. A pint of Guiness is also the perfect way to start the day.
