I've got the lakemaster map chip for MN. It was $100 & well worth it. It has most of the lakes that I fish, Mille Lacs, Alexandria chain most importantly for me. Check out their websites & see the list of lakes available for each one. The 1' contours on mille lacs are amazing.

You can ether use the Lakemaster or the Navionics chips with the H2o. THe lakemaster is a MN only region for $100 and the Navionics is now a 4 state region and goes for $200 for the Premium series. If you only fish Mn then the Lakemaster is probably a better choice, it you fish all over the 4 state region then the Navionics is probably a better choice. Good Luck

I have both the Lakemaster and the Navionics chips. I prefer the Lakemaster chips because I sometimes fish the lakes they have actually surveyed like Vermilion and Mille Lacs. You get more lake maps for your money with Lakemaster as well.

Hey folks, I'm looking at buying the H20 and would like some input. First, a retailer in town told me over the phone today they have them for $170. From what I've seen, that's a good deal. Am I right? Second, would the H20-C be a better choice? It's color and says it has 16-channel receiver. Will that make a big difference? I expect to use it mostly on Mille Lacs, which I fish mostly in the winter...although with this I would be better prepared for open-water/night fishing. (LakeMaster chip, for me.) Finally, what accessories would you recommend? Rechargeable batteries? Certain holders for boat an/or truck? Any input is appreciated! Thanks! P.S.

I hear the color version is awsome. Although I'm very happy with my standard version. It comes standard with a 12 volt adapter. If you're going to use it open water or in a vehicle ice fishing you'll want to get the external module so you're able to keep the unit in an electronics locker or inside you truck/car. The holders are nice. Rechargeable batteries don't last as long as the regular high quality ones.

BTW, $170 is a very good price although you may be able to find it cheaper if you dig around. I paid $195 for mine including shipping.

Check out the lists of lakes available on the two different chips, that will probably decide it for you. I have both the Navionics and the Lowrance Lake Master chip. The Lowarance chip loads much faster, I think this is because it has less information. I use the Navionics chip for Rainy Lake and Lake of the Woods. Those two lakes alone probably have enough info to bog down the unit.
