bigfishin21
I was just wondering if anyone else got a fish house license yet this year? If so, does the part that go on the outside of the house not have a sticky side to it anymore? Or is mine the only one? I know that the lady helping me was having trouble with the machine but I was just wondering if this is the new thing, before I go back and start yelling. Thanks for the replies... Mudcat21
Guess we get to glue them to our shacks this year.
norteastern
I bought my license at the change of the year back in March and had the sticky back side to it. Must have been the change in the type of paper they are using.
panski master
I buy my licnse at stoplight bait in St. Cloud and they have a laminating machine. I have my shelter portion laminated and then I use a hole puncher and punch one hole through it and zip tie it to my zipper on my trap. By doing this I am able to take it off my trap and put it on my bigger portable when fishing with friends. The laminating machine they have uses a laminate that when finished is almost as thick as a credit card. I'm sure if you went to Kinko's or any other type of copy place they may carry some kind of laminate that is similar. I have been doing this for 4-5 years and have never lost a license. The other thing is you don't have all the old license sticking on your trap or having trouble trying to peel the old ones off. Augusta
Does anyone have a solution for sticking them on their permanent houses?
Jeremy airjer W
How about the Handymans Secret Weapon, Duct Tape!
Dan Thiem
I just sandwich it between a small piece of plexiglass and a short piece of pine board. Then screw the pine board to the fish house. Then next year slide out the old one and slide in the new one.
Augusta
I thought of the duct tape idea too, and the board idea as well. But I just built my new fish house out of aluminum siding and not too keen on drilling holes....
MikeYager - Suzuki
I give up. I'm just keeping mine in my wallet. If a CO gives me a hard time I'll ask him how to attach it to my trap.
hanson
Sounds like its time for the DNR to go back to the metal tags with the year stamped into them. History has a way of repeating itself. Bring back the metal tags that I can just screw or nail right to the side of my shack!
iffwalleyes
No kidding I with you Hanson these new licenses the past few years are so stupid. I liked the plastic credit card size ones they had before the stickers that way it had a color that represented the year that was the best. The new licenses after a year in my wallet you can't hardly read any writing on them.
DEADhead
Keith,I do the same thing. I put the shelter tag and the shelter license facing back to back from each other and throw them through the laminator. Punch a hole in it. The only difference is you ziptie yours, and I stick a key ring through my hole and attach it to my fish trap's door zipper.
