Not sure where you were hunting but I was in Todd County where it started raining before noon and NEVER STOPPED pouring the rest the day or night. We got four in about an hour just before the rain. I went out to try to hunt the evening and just soaked to the bone(not the smartest thing I've done). Sunday morning brought wet snow, a lot of wind and the end of this year's hunt.

Tornado watches in the south and Winter storm watches in the north during deer hunting season will be something to talk about for years.

I hear you guys, I got absolutely drenched on Saturday, twice, & that was with a 2 1/2 hour break that included watching the 2nd half of the Gopher's game. I was also in Todd County. Sunday morning it was so windy we waited to go out until about 7:30 & then I tried makeing a small push to my brother. While I was doing that he had a tree about 10" in diameter get snapped off 40-50 yards from him. He said he was pretty alert after that...

lawdog -

I know exactly what you mean! My grandparents live about 1/2 way between Pipestone and Luverne just 1 mile off of Hwy. 75 and it was CRAZY down there this past weekend deer hunting!

I got down there Friday and it was 71 degrees with MISQUITOS!!! Saturday we hunted in the rain, lightening and thunder. Just got our 3rd deer loaded up in the truck when the skies starting turning black/gray at 3:30p.m. Got back to the farm, dressed out the deer and no more than 10 seconds after we got back in the garage it started to rain and hail. I cleaned that deer in a load of lightening and thunder.

It hailed 3 different times Saturday night at my grandparents place. Looked like 1/2" of slush on their driveway when it was done. I think I can say now that I've deer hunted in just about all types of weather this state can dish out. From 75-80 degree weather a few years ago, to the big freezing rain/ice storm about 5 or so years ago, to 20" of snow, thick fog, and now misquitos on Friday followed by rain/hail (and tornado watches)on Saturday followed by snow Sunday morning. What else is there? confused.gif

Still was a fun time though. I love deer hunting!
