help needed/ Safety card not arrived /cant get license

well me and my brother went to the store to buy our licenses well my brother finished his class like on september 22 and still has not received his card but we took his yellow paper then they wouldnt give him a license cause the paper didnt have a number on it that we needed to provide so now even if we were to get his license on thursday he cant hunt on saturday cause it takes at least 3 days for your license to be valid I emailed the DNR and called but they were closed (Contact US Regarding This Word) it.

My understanding is you have to wait only after a season has started. If you can get a license before Sat. 1/2 hour before sunrise you should be good to go. Good luck.

Try calling the DNR Enforcement Training Center at 1-800-366-8917. They may be able to find the number. As for the license, so long as you buy it before Sat, it's valid on opening day. If you buy it after the opener, you have to wait 2 days. Good luck.

I ran into this with my son. I e-mailed the DNR info center from their web page.

They replied like 2 minutes later with my sons # and sent a duplicate. If you have the # you can purchase a firearms safety card anywhere you buy a license. Cost is like 3 bucks.
