hunting deer in rain

Recommended Posts

I see that they are forecasting rain or snow on opener. Knowing the accuracy weather guys seem to have it will probably be 70 and sunny. I know the obvious advantages of snow (brown on white) but what effect will rain have on deer movements? Do they move more or less during a steady fall rain?

wooly is right, rain really has no adverse effect on deer movement, even heavy rain, storms they will hole up like he said, once during gun season I got caught in a rain storm with thunder and lightning, said enough is enough and went to the truck only to step out of the woods shoot a deer feeding in the feild within 200 yards of my truck. That one didn't care. It sucks to hunt in though.
