SSSTaxidermy
I was wondering if anyone has attempted to fix a hole in neoprene waders before and what works the best, if anything. I just spent a great deal of money on a nice pair of waders last season and I noticed when hanging them up the other night to dry, the outside part of the neoprene has a hole in it. It isn't all the way through yet but I was looking to put something on it that would help prevent it. It is about 6"-8" above the rubber boot. My wife wasn't really sure what would work, so I figured I would come to the next best source!!! I don't want to go out and spend more money on new waders again. Please help if you can? FOOT
I can't remember what I've used in the past but it was like a good rubber cement and patch. Go to your local sporting goods store or since you're close to Rogers go to the new Cabela's. They should have a couple different patch kits. ChuckN
"Goop" has been my favorite. They make marine, household, etc...brands but it seems to be all the same with a different label. You can find it just about any hardware or sporting goods store.
LovenLifeGuy
I had same problem two years ago. I used some glue that is used for wet suits. I got it at the snorkling(sp)shop on university and 73rd. I had two holes and a lot of leaks in the seams and have not had a problem since. I used it all and cant remember what it was called but it was not cheap either(around $25). I hope that helps.LovenLifeGuy
labdad
Super glue works just fine, squirt a little into the hole and pinch it closed.
Dotch
When I bought my neoprene waders at Fleet Farm, they must've seen me coming because the waders came with a repair kit & instructions. In it is a tube of cement, a couple neoprene patches and a piece of iron-on tape to finish the job. So far so good but being the clumsy oaf I am, it's likely only a matter of time. Would check with Fleet Farm, Cabelas, wherever you bought 'em, or at any reputable sporting goods store for a patch kit.

SSSTaxidermy
I went with the patch kit. Boy those things aren't cheap! I put a patch on the inside and outside of the waders. Shouldn't have any problems now. I did buy some "goop" too just to have in my bag at all times...Thanks for the advice and happy hunting... ikeslayer
the stuff that the fella bought at the snorkel shop was probably aquaseal. it has been in the marine world for years. i could give you a big sales pitch on it however you only have to use it once to know that you will only be needing to patch that hole once. Doesn't make a hard spot in wader and bends just like neoprene tougher than neo too. Cabelas sells it. give it a look No unauthorized links - please re-read forum policy ike
wyldewal
I put a hole in my 5 mm's a few years ago. I patched it with the same stuff they sell for the older cavas waders. I also put a patch on the inside as well. Just in case. It worked fine but it's also in a spot where flexing isn't a problem.
Traxxx
I would second the "shoegoo", it works on alot of stuff...come to think of it I've never tried it on shoes though, go figure.
RonZych
shoe-goo is to glue as duct-tape is to tape. I dont leave anywhere without either.
