steering wheel comes out?

Just got a 2004 Lund Angler and somehow I noticed that you can pull the steering wheel completely out. Is this normal?

Nope, it is not normal.
Pry out center cap and see if there is a nut holding wheel, they might have missed it.

Slightly on the dangerous side ... but would make a good prank to hand the wheel to your passenger(not recommended).

I my have to do that to my truck for when the *significant other* is giving her usual directions... bad ones.

I didn't mention the shaft comes out with the steering wheel. The shaft has two flat sides to it?

Ok, then you have a tilt steering.
It's not tough, but since it's a new boat....take it to dealer.
Raise some "h@ll" since it is really a dangerous situation.
Think about flying at 40mph and wheel comes off...

I won't mention the name quite yet. The funny thing is I can't see anywhere on the shaft where a clip or set screws hold the shaft into the steering box? Still confused. I'll see what they have to say on Monday!

i going to post this about double barrels deal. ( i just found out who he was two days ago!! he is my neighbor!!) he called the dealer. the guy told him to get it back to him asap! he took it back and the dealer replaced the entire consol unit. come to find out the steering consol is assembled buy an outside vendor.( not lund) the steering sector was not completed properly. it's fixed and he is fishing! del
