Reggatta's or tripletreads. Thats a smooth running car, don't ruin it by slapping on a cheap set of tires. Also look to see what the mileage rating is. tires for half usaully last about half as long. No savings after you replace them for the second time.

A friend of mine has a Grand Prix (not GTP though) and they were going to sell it because his wife was afraid to drive it because of very poor handling in the rain. This was with tires that had good tread and are a fairly reputable mfg.

Rather than selling the car, they got the Goodyear Tripletreads and now it's like night and day difference. He was saying they purposely went out of their way to hit puddles to see if the tires were that good and he said the water just parts like the Red Sea.

Confidence in the car has been restored by a set of tires.

If you care to do some browsing www.tirerack.com can be very informative with tire ratings and reviews from actual customers.

I totally agree with checking out tirerack.com Its a great site and you read all the reviews.

I bought a set of tires from them a couple years ago.

The other thing I would tell you is to check out Discount Tire. They are at tires.com or you can check out a store if there's one near you. I've bought my last 3 sets of tires form them. They have a price match program and excellent service. Highly recommended.

So I checked out Discount Tire and you can get the BFG Traction TA rated a "best" and if you get the "H" speed rating (118 mph) they are $80 a tire. Installed with valve stems, lifetime balance and lifetime rotations with roadhazard and replacement warrenty is about $480. You can go cheaper with a cheaper tire.

The people at DT are very honest about what they are selling. They pointed me to a good tire that is middle of the road. Its preformed better than the stockers and I'm very happy. You're not gonna get much cheaper with the stock size because of the "GTP" styling. They can help you with a comparable size.

Thats funny that you say that, my wife always complains about the car in the rain. I have looked at the HSOforum and it sounds like the tripple tread is the tire to go with. Does anybody know about how much they run?? The size is p225 60r16. Thanks much for all your help!

I put the Goodrich Traction TAs on our '91 Camry. They were $70 per tire installed at Sam's Club. Excellent tires in rain, snow, and dry. A trest drive in our car convinced a frined to put them on his Subaru Legacy.

dont forget ... if there is a local vendor or dealer in your area like an independently owned shop not name brand to give them a shot on new tires too. you will find that the customer service and commitment will be better and may make up for a few dollars more in cost. remember its the little guys that started retail and lots get bumped out by the big box stores ill get off my soap box now have a great day
