Pheasant opener

Anyone try pheasant hunting? The pheasant numbers must be way up. My group limited out both days. Will only get better once more of the corn gets out.

We hunted near lake Ponisett.

It was a warm one and hard on the dogs. We only hunted for about 3 hours and ended up with a good handful of roosters. It was just fun to be out with friends and family. My father-in-law was making some amazing shots. Too bad my wife was'nt able to get her first rooster. It's a good year so it will only be a matter of time.

How did your dog do? Mine was a bit confused at first, but later in the day she started to catch on.

She was only out for a couple hours so she did not get much experiance. She made a few retrieves and flushed a few hens. More of a water dog at this point. She retrieved over 30 ducks over the weekends so she is getting that program down.

do you do much hunting around madison. I'm a student at DSU. I knew your little sister from LHI. I think you know my old roommates Justin Stuefen and Mike Schlapkohl. Just curious where around here you hunt.

I hunt all around Madison, but the majority of my hunting I do north of town. It just seems like I know more land owners up that way. The madison area is a great area for about everything.
