fisherman
Anyone have one of these fish houses. Are they a decent portable compared to the otter and other brands that are on the market. I can get a new one for about $260 just wondering if this is the house I should buy. Thanks in advance for any comments!

Deitz Dittrich
Fish- I own the XLTwin... I have fished out of a lot of portable houses, and to be honest any of the top companies out there put up an awesome house, Otter, Clam, and Frabill... I Like mine, it does what I want it to do. If you can pick one up for that price it would be silly for you not to pull the trigger on that!
luv2fish
Fisherman - just curious is this something you are buying from a private party, or something you found at a atore? I personally like that Frabill alot. I like it even more for that price!!!
RANGERED
I have had a ranger 5yrs now. I would recommend any Frabil product. I'm In the process of doing the updates to the sled by adding compartments and more lites.
gvg_uwec
boy the seats on the new 2005 frabil mod seating are sweet, fully padded back and but pads, beats the "old" new mod style with no padding whatsoever on the seats.
fisherman
Sounds like this will be the one I purchase. After looking at getting an otter. These frabill seem like a better deal anyway not having to buy the seats. Thanks for the replys. luv2fish, I have a relative that works for Sportsmans guide thats why I can get that price. mntraveler
I too got the XLT last winter and have been happy overall with it. Also bought it because of a "family discount," albeit not as good as yours. My only issues are the 2x4 looking peices on the front that make it a little tougher to pull and the fabric tends to flap a lot in the wind. I do like the fact it is pretty lightweight and easy to set up. This unit wouldn't be my first choice if it was the same price as the otter or trap but for what you can get it for it's the best choice.
Ed Carlson
I used and owned many Frabill shacks including the XL-Twin and love them all. The new Twin has many upgrades, new thermal paded high back seats is one...very sweet.New windows, new improved Arctic Armor canvas system colects more heat from the sun and blocks out more light if you want it dark. These upgrades are in all the Frabill shacks plus they have new models out worth a look.Lots of new huts out but in my eye Frabill is high in the running for the best deals and quality. Bob_D
I got the XLTwin last year and so far, I love it. Lots of room, easy to setup, and built well. I've never tried the Otters, but I do like the XLTwin over the Clam.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted October 20, 2005 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted October 20, 2005 If you can get the XL Twin for that price you might want to consider an Otter at a special price from your relatives as well. The Otter plastic is tougher and more durable.
fisherman
Thanks everyone for their input. I still need to go and see the Frabill and Otter houses at a store. I cant get the discount on the otters, they don't sell them. Otherwise thats what I'd buy. I will probably buy the frabill as it will be close to $300 cheaper for what I want. Unless I'm that much more impressed with the Otter.thanks
federline
You might want to check out an Eskimo Quikflip II 2-man. For $300, you get a bench seat with backrest included, too. It's a little bit smaller than the XLTwin, tho.
