A good experience buying a truck

Dennis Steele

Question

I was recently in the market for a new truck.

I used the internet as a vehicle (pardon the pun) to shop for a 2005 Chevy extended cab long box truck, attempting to beat the "employee discount" deadline.

I received a few quotes from different dealerships, mostly offering to find a vehicle not in stock. After a bad experience with an unnamed dealership which offered an insulting amount for two work truck trade-ins and a not-so-savory sale price, we found an incredible deal at Village Chev of Wayzata. They not only busted hump to find the optimal vehicle, they offered a great price on a truck which was perfect for our needs. These guys, Adam (salesman) and Bob (sales manager) worked very hard to make certain our experience with their dealership was not only pleasant, but hard to resist financially. The truck is working out great (a 2006 Siverado 2500 HD) and we are certain to replace our 1993 Suburban at Village Chev when the time comes. Hats off the Adam and Bob!

One might think I am posting this because I got that great deal for a sponsorship or I am trying to take advantage of their referal program. Not the case. I am just extremely happy with my experience at Village Chev.

Watch the service department...they try to sell you things that you don't need...I bought a used 02 Suburban from another dealership, took it to village chev for an oil change, they told me my brakes were shot...$1200.00 to fix...Brought it back to dealer I bought if from..they pulled wheels and the pads were still like new...The service department is more like a "sales" department...I hope they stay on your good side when problems arise...that's when it really counts
