well ill be there for the opener. i think i might be signing my life away to that store when they open cause knowing me ill be at least a once or twice a week visitor cant wait tho i was there when the one in owatonna opened up it is fun just to walk around those huge stores.

Do you guys think the prices are better, than say Gander or is it just the selection? I know I'm guilty of making the trip south but don't really know why I do it, other than to look at the fishtank and the mounts.

What do you think about an FM "tail gater" out in the parking lot kinda like at a Vikings game (back when they had the old Met and played football.....)

MNfishguy, to be totally honest, no they are really not that much better than Gander.. however they do carry totally different things. Cabelas carrys a lot more stuff in bulk, or larger packaging. So you can save money that way. You can also buy stuff for making your own lures, such as spinner blades and special sinkers and that kind of thing that Gander doesnt carry... WIth that being said, I think Gander has a larger fishing section and more to offer.

I personally am glad we have both to choose from. I will continue to shop at Gander for the items they have.. and will get larger bulk pages of hooks jigs(but not walleye jigs.. I go with the Scenic Tackle jigs, which I get in bulk pakages from Tacklecity.com) and other items from the Cabelas.

On a side note...if you are going to the grand opening sale..Please stop and say hi... I will be working the shimano or aqua-vu area...
