Since I am the person everybody loves to hate, I thought I would throw some more fuel on the fire. I am posting this on Thursday September 15th while my beloved Pale Hose are in the biggest tailspin of the year and the Injuns are on a hot streak like nobody's business.

Chew on this prediction and we can talk after October 2nd.

#1 The Chicago White Sox will win their division and will win it with the best record in the American League.

#2 The Cleveland Indians will not even make the playoffs, thanks to defeats at the hands of the Chicago White Sox and the pressure of trying to catch the best team in the American League.

#3 The Chicago White Sox will face and defeat the New York Yankees in the first round of the playoffs after the Yankees blow away the Injuns and the A's for the wild card spot (check their remaining schedule and think about this one).

#4 The Boston Red Sox will win their division and will defeat the Angels in the first round of the playoffs.

#5 The Chicago White Sox will defeat the Red Sox in 6 games to advance to the World Series where they will face the St. Louis Cardinals.

#6 The Chicago White Sox will win the World Series in 7 games at "The Cell" in a game so well pitched and so well played defensively that even CNY Tim will appreciate it in the loss.

OK now I'm taking odds. Let's see who will give me the greatest odds of these events occuring and what amount they would like to wager. Get those numbers up boys!

YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES!

Cleveland's pretty hot. I don't see them not making the playoffs, but anything can happen. I actually think if they stay as hot as they are, they win the AL pennant.

Also, I don't think the Sox will make it out of the first round. No hitting and their pitching hasn't been near as good the second half of the season. Just my opinion.

I just opted to vote Buerhle the next Kreskin. Windy isn't even on the ballot after putting this thread out there.

PS "Love to hate"? I don't remember anyone admitting to the love part. Sounds like he is getting a little nervous now so he is trying to calm his fears by trying to convince us the Sox still have a chance.

If they don't win it all it would have to be a HUGE disappointment for all the White Sox fans! I mean they lead the division by a mile most of the season, had the best record in the AL for most of the season and still have one of the best records in baseball! Anythingthing less than a WS championship is falling flat on there faces! Hope that doesn't take away from all of the pompous statements being made! grin.gif

Right now I'd say you have a good chance at going 0-7. The Tribe are playing hot and could end up winning the division leaving the Sox outside looking in. There goes 1,2,5 & 6. I believe the Yankees just took over the Red Sox and could very well win their division now. There goes 3 & 4. Might need to make some new predictions.

I would guess that Windy and the Sox want the Indians to win the wild card, since the Wild Card can't play the winner of the division that they came from in the first round. That would leave them more than likely playing the Angels. What a first game matchup Colon vs. Contreras.

well the sox went (15-22) vs the AL West this year. (4-6) vs the Angels.

They are (3-4) against boston, and (3-3) against the yankees.

But (11-5) as of today against the Indians.

Looks like it could be a tough first round for the sox!

I looked up the Indians as well in case they make it in. Here is how they stacked up:

Anahiem: 3-3, last played in May

Boston: 2-4, last played in June

NYY: 4-3, last played 1st week in July

As you can see, the Tribe hasn't played any of the others since way back, and things have changed some. Hopefully we can get both teams in.

On a side note with the Tribe, I noticed that prior to this series with TB, they were only 2-4 against the Rays prior to this series. Looks like that record got a bit worse the past couple days.
