gunflint
I'll be changing the prop on my 25 hp Merc later this morning. Are you suppose to lubrcate the shaft before installing?
0 Surface Tension
Merc recommends doing so with Quicksilver Perfect Seal Sealing Compound of any waterproof lube. I use waterproof bearing grease.

0 gunflint
I honestly don't know what you're talking about. I was speed trolling in about 65fow when I tagged a floating rock. I did change over from a 13 to an 11 prop. It sounds like the Merc is revving faster and it does seem to go faster when I have a few well fed fisherman in the boat.
